Prohibition-era

I've been away for a while. Sorry about that. I've been working on some stuff, but I need to get back into posting on here regularly.

I'm not sure what the story would really be about, but I love the idea of something in 1920's New Orleans during the birth of hot jazz.

There's jazz, sex, liquor, love, drugs, interracial issues. The heat of the city itself. It's a hotbed of inspiration for something that's steamy and fun, but can also be terrifying and dramatic. Getting caught is not an option and music is the rhythm and the soul of the city.

Par Avion

After her father dies, a woman finds a postcard from a mysterious person in his mail. She puts it out of mind until months later, another postcard arrives. Then, while sifting through her late father's things, she finds a huge stack of the cards from the mysterious sender that are from all over the world.

Intrigued she sets out to find out who the writer is and why they've been writing to her father for all these years. What she finds is a deeper connection to the father she's lost and a better appreciation for the intricacies of life.

Connection

While waiting for his connecting flight, traveling businessman Tyler Barnes, meets the decorous Lyla Harrison, the lovely owner of the terminal's bookshop. He is immediately enchanted by her and each time he has a connecting flight there, he visits her until they start an unusual, flirtatious relationship.

But in the short meetings they have between Tyler's flights they can't possibly learn everything about each other and there may be more that Lyla is hiding from Tyler than she would care to let on. Is it all in Tyler's head or are they really making a connection?

Don't Look Back

This is super rough, but I can't be bothered to make it all shiny and pretty. Beware, there are probably swear words and unintelligible keysmashing below.

This is based on the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.

Oliver is big popular musician, falls in love with Ellie who is beautiful and perfect and everything that’s wonderful in this world. She dies from a snake bite on their honeymoon, he mourns, writes depressing ass music, shady person tells him to go see Hayden (hades). He begs to get her back, at any cost, he doesn’t care. Hayden teases him asking is he sure that he’s willing to do anything to get her back, does he even know how she really died, who she really was? He gets all defensive and angry and is like she was perfect whatever and Hayden’s all ‘fine, if you’re so sure, I’ll give you access to what you wish. If you can bring her back from the underworld, she’s yours alive for as long as her natural life would have been.” He’s happy and thankful and aioewjgsd and she’s like “On one condition. You cannot look upon her face until you return to our realm, should you do so, you will lose her forever.”

Oliver sets forth in the Underworld to find her. Dark place. Like a shadow version of the real world, but with nightmarish versions of people and creatures. Has to hunt down Ellie, tries not to look anyone in the face while trying to find her in case he accidentally stumbles on her. Eventually does find her, but she doesn’t remember who he is (the memories of life come back over time) so he has to hold on to her to bring her back, but when he touches her, the other underworld creatures attack. He must come up with a system to keep them bound together without looking at her face.

The memories start coming back with him there, but even as she falls back in love with him, part of her doesn’t want to go with him because there’s a lot about her that he doesn’t know. She doesn’t quite have the sunshine and daisies past that he thinks she does. He’s battling the other Underworld creatures and trying to get her back to the portal to the world of the living. She might cut and run at some point. Hmm, maybe they go back to where the portal was and it moved. Hayden’s moved it and they have to find it? Might be too complicated idk.

At any rate, they somehow eventually get to the portal and Ellie seems happy to be with him, they’re laughing and kissing (eyes closed) and just as Oliver swings her over the threshold he looks into her smiling face and watches her dissolve in his arms.

Now he’s back in the realm of the living, begging to have her, inconsolable, but Hayden already granted him his bargain and now she wants to collect on her payment. His mortality. He will become immortal. Never to die, never to join his love in death. Forever alive to remember her, but never to be with her. If he had succeeded, the price would have been his life for hers. Either way he was going to lose, but what do you expect when you make a deal with the devil?

For some reason I keep picturing Evan Rachel Wood as Hayden, Darren Criss as Oliver, and Dianna Agron as Ellie. /le shrug

Thin Line

Thin Line | Shuffle Synopsis Meme | asked by anonymous
The Cast: Chris Evans, Ayla Kell, and Bethany Joy Galeotti
The Song: Creep by Radiohead (cover by Scala & Kolacny Brothers)
Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You’re so fuckin’ special
I wish I was special

But I’m a creep, I’m a weirdo,
What the hell am I doing here?
I don’t belong here.
When Adrien (Evans) and Ingrid Fischer (Galeotti) move into their new house, they dream of it becoming their own personal slice of suburban paradise, and it is, at first. Welcomed warmly by their new neighbors, the Fischers become fast friends with the Sullivans, the couple next door though they see little of the Sullivans’ teenage daughter, Chloe (Kell), until summer rolls around.

As a freelance graphic designer, Adrien works mostly from home which works well for him until he discovers that his office overlooks Chloe’s window. The once innocent, if not moody, teen transforms into a nubile creature of visual temptation. He tries to keep his new interests under wraps, but Chloe is far more clever than he could have anticipated and starts teasing him and playing into his fantasies.

One day, Chloe locks herself out while swimming and seeks respite from the sweltering heat in Adrien’s home, but her true intentions are revealed when she strips down and convinces Adrien to sleep with her.

Wracked with guilt, Adrien refuses to let it happen again, but when Chloe threatens to blackmail him, he gives in and begins an affair with her. As the two navigate the intricacies of not getting caught, Adrien must learn how to keep up with Chloe’s insatiable sexual appetite. Coupled with Chloe’s desire to almost get caught, they each get discovered in increasingly compromising situations and it can only go on for so long before someone finds out.

Written Off

Another one written for the tumblr shuffle synopsis meme. This one is based on "Don't You Want Me".

T.R. Ellsbury (Depp) has been hailed as the literary genius of his generation, but in spite of his intellectual background, Ellsbury finds himself writing young adult fantasy novels in his spare time. Ashamed of his “trashy” writing, he hires cocktail waitress Haverty Cane (Stone) to be the face of his young adult series.

Five years down the line, Haverty is tired of just being the public face behind Ellsbury’s books and decides to pen her own. Terrified of the damage Haverty could cause should her own writing prove to be less than stellar, he attempts to get rid of her, but she threatens to expose him to the literary world and works on her own novel with her snarky editor Gwen Pollock (Bullock).

When her own novel becomes a huge success, she’s launched into the world of the literary elite and even snags the interest of Hollywood producer Donovan Cooper (Gosling). As her own success grows, Haverty becomes less inclined to continue working with Ellsbury, but as she starts falling for Cooper the truth threatens to come out. Meanwhile, Ellsbury must choose between losing his teen fiction outlet or exposing the truth about Haverty’s beginnings and risk taking himself down with her.

Moving On

So that is really not the best title, but whatever.

This is a story about a man who fell in love with his high school sweetheart. They married young and her family adopted him when his own failed him. They went on to have a beautiful baby boy and then his wife died.

Five years later, that man meets someone and starts feeling things he never thought we would be able to again. How does he deal with moving on from the love of his life and how do his in-laws cope with him falling in love with someone else?

Edge

So I did the shuffle synopsis meme on tumblr, and this came up. I was actually originally prompted with Maggie Gyllenhaal instead of Anne Hathaway, but I was having issues with finding a poster image and I made this one, but had to make a different one with Maggie. Regardless, I prefer this one. *this is a fake movie poster*

Edge

Zach Wylan (Clooney) is a guy’s guy, charming, successful--he dominates every boardroom he steps into. When taking a detour from his regular haunts, he finds himself in the leather-clad dungeon of the underground nightclub, Edge, and everything he thought he knew about himself gets turned upside down.

Mistress Maddox (Gyllenhaal), a renowned dominatrix, takes a liking to Zach and brings him to his knees. After his first night in the club, the pair begin a non-sexual D/s relationship that slowly begins to take over Zach’s life.

One day, Zach runs into her in the regular world, and he learns her real name, Addy, and that she’s happily married to another dom, Lee (Hardy). The more Zach gets to know Addy, the more he realizes that he wants to be with her outside of their D/s relationship and the lines between what is appropriate and what isn’t start to blur.

When Addy gives in to the temptation of Zach’s desires, the balance between dominant and submissive begin to unravel. With Lee’s possessive domination of Addy, Zach battles with his own nature to fight for the woman he’s falling in love with he must choose between the loss of a life or the loss of his soul.
